Scrapbook including newspaper clippings of articles and advertisements for the Guaranty Federal Savings and Loan Association
This collection consists of a scrapbook documenting the life of the Karhu family in Clarksville, Tennessee, as well as their friends and extended family. The scrapbook contains photographs, newspaper clippings, documents, programs, and other ephemera from 1941-1986. It primarily focuses on the activities of Vicky, Ann, and Jane Karhu as children and young adults. It also includes materials on the Clarksville High School band and Carolyn Karhu's involvement in local theater.
This scrapbook, created by Emma Peterson, contains clippings from various newspapers and magazines. Many of the cut-outs are portrayals of animals, children and landscapes. Many of the clippings are from the comics from the newspapers, mostly of "Sonnysayings" by Fanny Y. Cory in 1929 to 1930. The remainder of the clippings range from the 1930's to the 1960's.
