The Beaumont Letters Collection contains six correspondences written by Frank S. Beaumont of Clarksville, TN. to his wife, Laura Beaumont, during his service in the Civil War, circa 1861.

Abstract

Evelyn Homer Glenn Hunter was born in Clarksville, Tennessee in 1927. Together with her mother, Mildred Smith Glenn, Evelyn had a strong interest in her family genealogy and local history. The two women collected family papers and paid particular attention to their Bowman and Smith family ancestors in their research, as well as Serepta Jordan Homer. The materials include original family papers, photographs, genealogical research, and other related printed materials.

Scope and Contents

A letter dated November 19, 1861 from Henry F. Beaumont to his son, Thomas W. Beaumont. Thomas was serving in the 50th Tennessee Infantry Regiment at Fort Donelson at the time that Henry wrote this letter.

Scope and Contents The Records of the United Daughters of the Confederacy contains organizational records from the Caroline Meriwether Goodlett Chapter 326 which is located in Clarksville, Tennessee.
