The Highway Department Maps collection includes a variety of maps from Montgomery County’s Highway Department, dating from 1932 to 2004. The maps document the roadway expansion as well as topographic and zoning changes which have taken place throughout the county.

The original order of the documents has been preserved; additional maps continue to be added to it.

The materials in this collection were created by and transferred from the Montgomery County Highway Department.

Processing Information

The maps were placed in an acid-free folder and separated with sheets of acid-free paper. There was no obvious pattern to the original arrangement; a small portion of the maps were rearranged and put into chronological order, while the rest remain in the original order.
