The “Replevin Warrants” series, which dates from 1956 to 1960, includes warrants issued by a General Sessions court judge allowing a plaintiff to reclaim property from a defendant. On the back of the warrant, the plaintiff must submit a bond to the court of equal value to the items. It is used as a promise the plaintiff will return the items if the judge rules in favor of the defendant. This bond is held until ownership is determined by the court.
