Darnell, Alex W. (Alex Whitefield), 1929-2020
Biography
Alex Whitefield Darnell was born September 9, 1929 to Elliott Sinclar and Anita Whitefield Darnell. After graduating from Clarksville High School, Darnell went on to attend Vanderbilt University and later Vanderbilt Law School. He completed his law degree in 1954. He practice law in Clarksville for several years before he was appointed Clerk and Master of Montgomery County Chancery Court in 1961. He held that position for 14 years before he was name Chancellor of the 6th Chancery District in 1975. He continued in that position for more than 20 years before retiring.
In 1952 he married his high school girlfriend, Sarah Anne Howser. The couple had three children. Alex Darnell died On November 24, 2020.
