Clarksville (Tenn.)--Genealogy

This collection houses copies of the Cornsheller Periodical, which was created by the Montgomery County Historical Society. This collection consists mainly of issues from 2008 to 2026, with various other issues dating back to 1978.

This collection consists of transcriptions of newspaper articles covering a wide range of social news, obituaries, marriages, and social activities of white middle to upper class citizens of Clarksville. The transcriptions begin with articles from 1840 and continue through the mid 1950’s.

This collection includes photographs of the Johnson family. Approximately half of the collection consists of photographs of Christopher Colombus and Maggie Powers Johnson and their immediate family members. The second half are photographs from a 1992 Johnson family reunion.
