Biographical / Historical
The Warioto Audubon Society formed on December 4, 1969. The organization aimed "to engage in any such educational, scientific, investigative, literary, historical, philanthropic, and charitable pursuits as may be part of the stated purpose of the National Audubon Society". Meetings were held on the first Thursday of each month from September through June. The Warioto Audubon Society's members participated in a number of birdwatching activities as well as held an annual Christmas bird count.
