Virginia Lowe Scrapbook Collection
Scope and Contents
The Virginia Lowe Scrapbook Collection consists of five scrapbooks created by Virginia Lowe. The scrapbooks contain "Girl Talk" articles from "Tennessee Magazine", newspaper clippings, and photographs between 1965 and 2005. The majority of the collection consists of "Girl Talk" articles written by Virginia Lowe from "Tennessee Magazine" between 1968 and 1985.
The collection also includes three items donated in 2014 by Frank Cunningham on behalf of Virginia Lowe. These include an unpublished manuscript by Frank Hodgson entitled "The Sea Witch", a VHS tape entitled "Mrs. Gilbert's 1954 Fall Tour of Clarksville", and a professionally produced VHS tape entitled "A Closer Look at Clarksville".

Biographical / Historical
This collection consists of scrapbooks created by Virginia Lowe and assorted materials donated by Frank Cunningham. Virginia Lowe was from Knoxville, Tennessee. She recieved her Bachelors of Science in Home Economics from the University of Tennessee. She lived in Clarksville, Tennessee, and worked as the Home Service Advisor for the Cumberland Electric Membership Corporation. In this position, she worked with women's clubs, school home economic classes, and appliance dealers. Lowe served as the author of "Girl Talk" and had regular articles published in "Tennessee Magazine", which gave advice on home care, appliances, home design, decorating, entertaining, cooking, and health.
