Biographical / Historical
Ida Eugenia Sisk Deal was born on October 18, 1948 to Bailey Eugene and Frances Payne Sisk. A native of Clarksville, Ida attended Freed Hardman University for one year before transferring to Austin Peay State University. in 1970, Ida recieved a Bachelor of Arts degree in business education.
After first meeting at Madison Street Church of Christ, Ida Sisk and Virgil Thomas Deal Jr., married on September 7, 1970. The couple went on to raise two children, Frank Wesley and Amy Susanne Deal. In addition to being a military spouse for 32 years and a Girl Scout leader for 15 years, Ida was a genealogy enthusiast and Master Gardener. Ida Deal passed away at the age of sixty-nine on July 14, 2018. She was buried at Harpeth Hills Memory Gardens and Funeral Home in Nashville, Tennessee.

Processing Information
The Ida Sisk Deal Collection is arranged based on material type. Several books donated by Ida Deal have been placed in the reference room area of the Archives. These books were inventoried and marked with an accession number. Copies of "The Middle Tennessee Journal of Genealogy and History" were moved to the journal collection in the Archives. Maps were placed in folders and housed in the map rack area of the Archives.
