Biographical / Historical
In the aftermath of the 2017 Solar Eclipse, Archives staff Jenna Stout and Sarah Fry used social media to collect community items for the Solar Eclipse Collection. The collection documents how local residents and organizations celebrated and participated in the Total American Eclipse on August 21, 2017. Suggested items for donation included eclipse event ticket stubs, party invitations/favors, information handouts, pamphlets, business merchandise, personal stories, and photographs. Stout and Fry reached out to businesses, including Fortera Credit Union and Old Glory Distilling Company, for eclipse-themed promotional items. Materials from Austin Peay State University’s PeayClipse event were also collected.
