Summary
Interview with James A. Halford, Jr. of Clarksville, Tennessee as part of the Montgomery County African American Oral History Project. Halford talks about his experiences growing up in Clarksville during the 1960s and 1970s, his time as a pilot in the 89th Airlift Wing of the United States Air Force, and what it was like to return to Clarksville with his family in the 1980s. He also discusses his tenure as the Chief of Staff to Clarksville Mayor Joe Pitts and how the city has changed since he was a child.
