Summary
Interview with Vester Carney of Adams, Tennessee as part of the Montgomery County African American Oral History Project. Carney talks about his family ties to the Benevolent Lodge 210, as well as the organization's impact on the local community, particularly the yearly picnic held in August to mark Emancipation Day. He also discusses the 1994 burning of the lodge by a local hate group, and how the organization rebounded.
