Scope and Contents
The Danforth Family Photographs is a collection of 38 photographs taken in Syria (modern-day Lebanon) that belonged to sisters Agnes and Helen Danforth. The photographs, which date from circa 1884 to 1905, primarily consist of landscape views of the Adonis River Valley and surrounding locations in Syria. A small number also feature people and structures from the same region. The Danforth sisters were the children of missionaries based in Syria.

Description
Two photographs mounted to a large backing. The photograph on the left (labeled 14) is a black and white photograph of a stone structure with an arched doorway next to a large tree. The structure appears to be in or next to an open clearing. The photograph on the right (labeled 15) is a black and white photograph of a cedar tree in an open clearing. Two men wearing head coverings sit and stand at the base of the tree, with pails.
