Scope and Contents The 1999 Clarksville Tornado Photographs collection consists of photographs of downtown Clarksville after an F3 tornado struck on January 22, 1999 that severely damaged many historic buildings. This collection contains 71 photographs taken in the days following the disaster. The photographs were taken by Cindy Jackson and show many homes, churches, and vehicles that were badly damaged by the tornado as well as first responders clearing debris. Abstract The Mayor Family Collection, which dates from circa 1908-2000, consists of photographs and other materials relating to the photographic collection and career of photojournalist Alan Mayor, as well as that of his mother Rosemary. Many of the photographs were taken at events for Montgomery County home demonstration clubs through the 1980s and 1990s.
